About Hong Kong

Hong Kong is an official and administrative Region, it is a territory located in the East Asia and Southern China, Hong Kong shares its borders with the province of Guangdong to north and having South China Sea to East, South and West. Hong Kong has population of 7 million people and only 1,108km of total land that makes it most densely populated region of the world. In beginning with the trading port this city became dependent territory of United Kingdom in 1842, then remained transfer of the sovereignty to people's Republic of China in year 1997. With Macau City is now one of the special administrative regions under one country that have two-system policy,

 

Hong Kong is largest and have self governing system, Hong Kong has its own currency political and legal system with the higher degree of autonomy in its all affairs, is has also defense and exception of the foreign affairs, generally not considered as the part of main-land China. Hong Kong is renowned for natural setting and its expansive skyline; it is the world's leading financial capital as well. Hong Kong has cultural hub and major business it maintain highly developed economy (capitalist). Identity of Hong Kong is as cosmopolitan center and in that region east meet with west by reflecting its cuisine, music, cinema and traditions.

 

Although population of Hong Kong is predominantly Chinese but expatriates and residents from other ethnicities and significant segments are the part of the society. Hong Kong is also knows as island and geographically Hong Kong is divided into 18 districts for the administrative purpose; each is represented by the district council and advises government on the local matters as, community programs, public facilities, environmental improvements and cultural activities.

 

534 of total council seats are available there, in which 450 are elected and rest are appointed by Chief Executive and chairmen of rural community.
